Terroir
With its very small vineyard of just 90 ha in the northern Côtes du Rhône, the prestigious Condrieu Appellation is a rare, almost secret wine.
From the Viognier grape variety, cultivation is done by hand on the very steep slopes, the earth supported by low walls. The south / south-east exposure, a soil comprising arenas and granitic alluviums make this ideal terrain for a great white wine. This variety produces small, tight bunches that take on a golden glint when ripe, yielding very sweet, perfumed grapes.
Vinification
The vinification demands an intact, very ripe grape, making this a heady wine.
Tasting
A gleaming, clear, fluid straw colour. Aromatic nose, with notes of toast, mocha, and "jammy" white fruits. On the palate, we again find this lightly-toasted aspect with acacia flowers. Well balanced, long, well-rounded finish.
Serve whith
This wine must be rested before drinking, to enjoy at 12°C as an aperitif and with elaborate dishes.
