Terroir

With its very small vineyard of just 90 ha in the northern Côtes du Rhône, the prestigious Condrieu Appellation is a rare, secret wine.
From the Viognier grape variety, cultivation is done by hand on the very steep slopes, the earth supported by low walls. The south / south-east exposure, a soil comprising arenas and granitic alluviums make this ideal terrain for a great white wine. This variety produces small, tight bunches that take on a golden glint when ripe, yielding very sweet, perfumed grapes.

Vinification

The vinification demands an intact, very ripe grape, which makes this a strong / heady wine.

Tasting

Golden, amber straw colour, clear and fluid. The nose is very aromatic, complex. There are notes of whit pears, toffee, apricots, and violets, with a woody side, elegant, with finesse. On the palate, the attack is rounded, with a great deal of body, and all the complexity of the nose is found again here. A very long finish, a superb, very well balanced wine.

Serve whith

A wine to enjoy as an aperitif, with foie gras, rich prepared fish dishes, and with creamy desserts.

Service

To be drunk at a temperature of 11–12°C.
